So lately I've been trying a few new things here this past month and wanted to give a review about it! Below I have inserted the pics of the products mentioned in this blog.
Skinny Syrups Pumpkin Praline Spice sugar free syrup: 100% HIT! Let me just say that I know skinny or sugar free syrups are not everyone's cup of coffee but for me it totally is! I am on weight watchers and this was such a fall treat I had to count it twice to make sure I wasn't slipping up on my plan. Literally 2 points for my coffee in the morning and this is such a great syrup that takes me to colder non humid H-Town weather. Which is literally only 1 week a year lmao.
KOSAS Tinted oil: MISS… So here's the thing I am really on the fence about this product. I like the coverage it gives, but the oiliness it leaves on my skin is a bit much for me. Now, maybe this is because I live in Houston in 104 degree heat index weather. Literally, every time I put it on it looks like an oil painting gone awry. It literally melts off my face and then I have areas that have no makeup and others that have coverage. So maybe this product would work better in dryer colder weather where you could use more oil and keep your face moisturized. Now this retails for $42 dollars at Sephora. So the fact that I’m experiencing this the first go around makes me less than likely to repurchase this product. In place, I would recommend IT Cosmetics CC cream or Bare Minerals CC cream
Fabletics activewear: HIT! I tried the fabletics leggings for the workouts at my gym and I like how it holds me together. They have different materials you can choose from from lounge wear which does not have the powerhold technology to the active wear which is what I love. It's great for the HITT workouts I do. Now, it's $49.95 a month which if you don't want to be charged then you have to press skip and get the confirmation that you skipped otherwise you will be charged. Which is what happened with me. I pressed skip but was still charged and after calling customer service was told to make sure I get a confirmation email of my skip. Customer service is very friendly and helpful so that is a plus. Now, I also like the fit. It's pretty true to size and hugs you in the right places. It's also wayyy more cost friendly as opposed to other brands out there charging hundreds for leggings… and the quality is better than what you would get at Target etc. Also the sports bra is probably my most favorite to wear. It is truly comfortable and fits great. I've tested it for weight days and cardio days and both I was very pleased with the support it gave me!
Dry Quick Curls : MISS. I picked this product up at Target and was okay with it. It did hold my curls and maintained my frizzy hair. The down side is the smell and the weird oil texture it leaves behind. To be honest there are other products better suited for what I like which is a pleasant fresh smell, maintaining frizziness, holding my curls! The products I would recommend are Carol's Daughter products, and Cantu! Those two products are amazing at hold your curl giving you that bouncy healthy looking curl, as well as smelling amazing and not giving you that oily look!
Manual Milk Frother: HIT! I bought this at Target for $7.99 and this is amazing. I use this to make a latte. I put it in my coffee after all ingredients are put in and froth for 30 seconds. Gives that velvety finish that you want for a latte.
ELF Purple Primer: HIT. This is a really great product that is really undervalued. It blurs out my pores a big PLUS in my book and is great under my IT Cosmetics products. Even if you are just applying a tinted moisturizer this product would help your skin look like a smooth canvas. WIN WIN WIN!
Cuisine Art Pan: HIT this was a much used product of mine I recently purchased at HomeGoods. It heats up evenly and I had made chicken for the week cooked it just perfect and kept it nice and juicy! Loved using it and will be using this more frequently for my meal preps.
LAVanila Deodorant: MISS! This product although is labeled as having no aluminum and healthy to use completely burned my armpits. I ended up letting my mom use it and the same thing happened to her. I'm not sure what ingredient is in there that could cause it but it was so red and painful. NO THANK YOU!
NIKE Airmax shoes : HIT! Absolutely love working out in these vintage looking shoes. Makes me give a little extra at the gym!
Blowfish camo shoes: HIT! I wear these soo much at work and they have this memory foam which keeps my feet comfy and no pain at the end of the day! PLUS THEY ARE ADORABLE!
And there you have it! All my hits and misses of August! Next month will be so much fun as I will have things from my FabFitFun box and Ipsy bag that I am excited to try out and review!
STAY PRECIOUS AND SLAY THIS NEXT MONTH Y'ALL !!
